Here are four tips on how to change your LinkedIn profile URL:
- Use a Professional Profile URL Your LinkedIn profile should be designed to show off your skills and accomplishments, not just your name and contact information. A professional profile URL looks something like http://www.linkedin.com/in/jsmith123?trk=prof-info&rn=false . This will help people find you more easily and make you more visible in the LinkedIn search results pages.
- Use Your Company Name or Logo as Your Profile URL If you work for a company with a website, use that website’s domain name as your profile URL instead of using your personal name or contact information (like jsmith123). For example, if you work for ABC Company, use www.abccompany.com as your profile URL instead of jsmith123 . This will help people find you more easily and make you more visible in the LinkedIn search results pages (assuming ABC Company has been listed in the “Top Companies” section of LinkedIn).

What to Know When Changing Your LinkedIn URL
When you change your URL, it will always start with the following:
After the in/ is where your custom URL will appear. The new URL must have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 300 characters. You can’t use spaces, symbols, or special characters in your URL.
You’ll likely want to change it to your name in some fashion. Keep in mind, though, that your profile URL is not case-sensitive, which means both “MaheshMakvana” and “maheshmakvana” are the same.
While changing the URL, keep in mind that you can only do that five times in a six months period.
Change Your LinkedIn Profile URL on Desktop
On a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, use the LinkedIn site to customize your profile URL.
To do so, launch a web browser on your computer and open LinkedIn. Sign in to your account on the site, if you are not already.
In LinkedIn’s top-right corner, click Me > View Profile.
On the right sidebar, at the top, click “Edit Public Profile & URL.”
Again, at the top of the right sidebar, in the “Edit Your Custom URL” section, click “Edit” (a pencil icon).
Your profile URL is now editable. Clear the existing URL, type the new URL of your choice, and click “Save.”
And your LinkedIn profile URL has been successfully changed. People will now need to use the new URL to access your profile. Be sure to update your other social media with your new link.

Change Your LinkedIn Profile URL on Mobile
On your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, use the LinkedIn app to change your Linkedin web address.
To start, launch the LinkedIn app on your phone. In the app’s top-left corner, tap your profile icon.
In the menu that opens, at the top, tap “View Profile.”
Your profile page will open. Scroll down the page to the “Contact” section, then tap “Edit” (a pencil icon).
At the top of the “Edit Contact Info” page, tap your current profile URL.
In the “Edit Your Custom URL” section, tap “Edit” (a pencil icon).
Your profile link field is now editable. Type a new URL for your profile and tap “Save.”
And that’s all. Your profile URL is now changed.
