Google Chrome is a popular web browser that offers users a variety of features, including address bar search suggestions. However, some users may want to disable these suggestions in order to improve their browsing experience. To disable address bar search suggestions in Google Chrome, follow these steps:
- Open Google Chrome and click the three lines in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Click “Settings.”
- Under “Advanced,” click “Search.”
- In the “Search settings” dialog box, under “Suggested searches,” uncheck the box next to “Enable address bar search suggestions.” ..
When you start typing a query or a website link in Google Chrome’s address bar, the browser displays various search suggestions beneath the bar. If you aren’t a big fan of these suggestions, you can turn them off. We’ll show you how.
If disabling images in search suggestions isn’t enough, Chrome will stop offering any suggestions retrieved from your default search engine after making this change. Any suggestions from your browsing history, however, will continue to appear.
This method works for any search engine you use in Chrome, including Google and Bing.

Turn Off Chrome’s Search Suggestions on Desktop
To disable search suggestions in Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, first, launch Chrome on your computer.
In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the three dots.
From the three-dots menu, select “Settings.”
On the “Settings” screen, in the “You and Google” section on the right, click “Sync and Google Services.”
You’re now on the “Google Services” page. Here, scroll down to the “Other Google Services” section, then turn off the “Autocomplete Searches and URLs” option.
And you’re all set. Chrome will no longer offer any search suggestions in the address bar.

Turn Off Chrome’s Search Suggestions on Android
You can disable Chrome’s search suggestions on Android, too.
To do so, launch Chrome on your Android phone. In the top-right corner of the browser, tap the three dots.
From the three-dots menu, select “Settings.”
On the “Settings” page that opens, in the “You and Google” section, tap “Google Services.”
In the “Google Services” menu, disable the “Autocomplete Searches and URLs” option.
And that’s it. Enjoy a suggestion-free browsing experience in Chrome on your Android phone!

Turn Off Chrome’s Search Suggestions on iPhone or iPad
To get rid of search suggestions in Chrome on an iPhone or iPad, launch Chrome on your device.
In the bottom-right corner of Chrome, tap the three dots.
In the three-dots menu, tap “Settings.”
On the “Settings” page, tap “Google Services.”
In the “Google Services” menu, turn off the “Autocomplete Searches and URLs” option. Then, in the top-right corner, tap “Done.”
And Chrome on your iPhone or iPad will no longer bother you with any search suggestions!
