Google has been steadily increasing its presence in our lives, from search to email to now the Google Assistant. This virtual assistant is a powerful tool that can help you with a variety of tasks, from setting alarms to finding information. If you’re not familiar with how to enable Google Assistant on your Android device, we’ve got you covered. To start, open the Google app on your Android device and sign in. From there, select the “Settings” option at the bottom of the screen. Under “Google,” select “Assistant.” You’ll see a list of options here, including “OK Google.” To use the Google Assistant, just say “OK Google” followed by the command you want it to perform. For example, if you want to set an alarm for tomorrow morning, you would say “OK Google: Set alarm for 7am.” If you’d like more control over how the Assistant works on your device, you can also enable voice controls and customize your settings. To enable voice controls, just say “OK Google” followed by the command you want it to perform. For example, if you want to play music from your phone’s library using voice commands instead of having to open the Music app first, you would say “OK Google: Play music from my library.” To customize your settings further, head over to Settings -> Voice & Audio -> OK Google -> Customize Voice Settings and make any changes that suit your needs. ..

Want to be able to quickly launch Google Assistant and perform your searches with it? Enable an option on your iPhone or Android phone, and then all you will have to say is “Hey Google” or “Ok Google” to launch the virtual assistant. Here’s how.

On Android phones, the hotword to launch Google Assistant is “Hey Google,” whereas on iPhone, it’s “Ok Google.” Both use the same Google Assistant app, though.

Why Enable “Hey Google”

One major reason to enable “Hey Google” is that you can invoke Google Assistant from anywhere on your phone. Whether you’re browsing a website, listening to songs, or watching a video, just say the hotword and the assistant will open ready to answer your queries.

Later, if you don’t want to use the “Hey Google” hotword anymore, you can turn the feature off on your phone.

Turn On “Hey Google” on Android

To activate “Hey Google” on your Android phone, you’ll use the official Google app.

From the “Voice” menu, choose “Voice Match.”

You’ll land on a “Hey Google & Voice Match” page. Here, in the “This Phone” tab, turn on the “Hey Google” option.
